Volleyball Team Loses to No. 14 BYU, 3-0

PROVO, UTAH - Air Force was no match for nationally-ranked BYU, as the Cougars defeated the Falcons volleyball team in three games, (30-17, 30-20, 30-15).
The Cougars used a distinct height advantage to dominate the match, finishing the game with a ..394 hitting percentage. The Falcons had 25 kills and 19 errors on 103 total attacks for a .058 percentage.
Delavane Diaz led the team in kills with 13. It was the seventh match overall that Diaz has led the team in kills. Lamecca Jefferson notched a team-leading eight digs - the first match in which she led in digs.
Sunny Mahe led the Cougars offense, hitting .700 percent (15k-1e-20a).Nina Puikkonen notched three block assists to move to second place on BYU's all-time leader's list for total blocks.
The Falcons (1-10, 0-4) continue to look for their first conference win. They will also look to snap a nine-match losing streak in Albuquerque, when they take on the Lobos on Friday, Oct. 5, at 7 p.m.
