USAFA, Colo. - (Sept. 8) Washington took advantage of its size and power, tallying 12 team blocks and hitting .436 percent to defeat the Falcons volleyball team 3-0 (30-19, 30-20, 30-15) to win the Air Force Invitational tournament. The Falcons were winless in the tournament.
"Although we did not win, I am pleased with how we performed," said head coach Penny Lucas-White. "We were up against some tough teams. They call it preseason for a reason. It's purpose is to prepare you for conference competition. And we will be ready for the Mountain West."
