The Air Force golf team finished in 11th place at the Denver Invitational. It was the second consecutive tournament that the Falcons narrowly failed to finish in the top 10. Adam Wasinger was the team leader, finishing tied for 31st place. Adam Myers was in 15th place heading into the final round, but a poor final round cost him a chance of cracking the top 10 for the first time in his career.
The Denver men's golf team captured its own Rocky Mountain Men's Intercollegiate for the second consecutive year, blistering the field with a final round 10-under par 278 for a 36-hole total of 855 (9-under par). Denver was the only team in the field to finish the tournament under par and won by 11 strokes over UNC-Wilmington as all five Pioneer starting golfers finished among the top 15 individually.
The Falcons are off for two weeks, then head to Dallas, Texas, for the annual Service Academies Classic, Oct. 14-15. The Falcons have won the tournament seven consecutive seasons, but will be without Ben Leestma, who was the individual champion the past four years.
