Falcons Fall to Regis, 73-54

The Air Force women's basketball team suffered its first loss of the young season, falling 73-54 to Regis University. The Falcons shot 38.2 percent from the field, but struggled with protecting the ball, committing 27 turnovers.
The Rangers' front court duo of Molly Marrin and Rachel Caliga was tough to stop. Marrin had 25 points and Caliga notched 17. Regis shot 44.3 percent from the field, going 27-for-61.
The Falcons were led by freshman Briana Thomas with 11 points and Janea Childress with 10 points - the only Falcon player in double figures. Air Force out-rebounded Regis 40-34. The team was led by Latoya Howell, who notched seven boards.
The Falcons (1-1) will be back in action on Friday, as the team hosts the Air Force Classic. Air Force will play Winthrop on Nov. 29th at 5 p.m., followed by New Orleans and Minnesota at 7:30 p.m. The losers will meet on Saturday, Nov. 30, at 2:30 p.m., while the championship game is set for 5 p.m.
