Latoya Howell Named MWC Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Air Force Academy guard Latoya Howell was named Mountain West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, marking her second award this season.
A 5-4 sophomore from Chicago, Ill. (Queen of Peace HS), Howell sparked the Falcons to an 86-61 victory over Cal State Sacramento by scoring 23 points and dishing out an Air Force Division I record 11 assists, which marked her third double-double of the season. Howell shot 6-of-12 from the field and 10-of-11 from the free throw line, while recording five steals and three rebounds vs. the Hornets.
Howell currently leads the MWC in steals (3.38 per game) and assists (7.38 per game) and ranks third in scoring with 17.8 points per contest. She is also ranked 12th in the nation in assists per game.
