BYU defeats Air Force, 5-2

Brigham Young University, ranked No. 75 in the country, defeated Air Force, 5-2, Friday in a men's tennis match played at the University of New Mexico. The loss moves the Falcons to 12-6 overall this season and 0-3 in Mountain West Conference action.
The Cougars captured the doubles point by winning two of three doubles matches. Junior Eric Pittman and freshman Tyler McClung combined to win the No. 2 doubles match for Air Force, 8-5, over BYU's Nic Losee and Eric Nyman.
Pittman and McClung notched both singles victories for AFA as well, with Pittman defeating Gert Vilms, 7-6, 7-6, at the No. 1 position, while McClung easily beat Anton Rudjuk, 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 5 slot. Sophomore Justin Mancinelli put up a good fight in the No. 4 position, taking Nyman to three sets before succumbing, 6-3, 2-6, 6-1.
The Falcons continue MWC play on Saturday, April 6, with a match against the University of Utah. The match will once against be played in Albuquerque, NM, and will start at 10 a.m.
