Falcons come from behind to beat UMKC, 2-1

The Air Force men's soccer team erased a 1-0 halftime deficit with unassisted goals from sophomore Marcus Sagastume and Colin Eames and defeated UMKC, 2-1, Sunday at the Denver Classic. The victory improves the Falcons' record to 5-4-1, while UMKC fell to 3-5-1.
UMKC got on the board in the 14th minute when Tim Collico put a shot past Air Force goalie Mike Taylor after receiving a pass from Dan Hilson. Despite outshooting the Kangaroos 11-3 in the first half, the Falcons mustered just two shots on goal and both were saved by UMKC keeper Beau Williams.
The Falcons kept up the pressure in the second half and were able to put a few more shots on goal. Air Force had 12 total shots in the second stanza and six of them were on net. UMKC had just two total shots and did not record shot on goal in the second half.
Sagastume tied the game with his fourth goal of the season in the 66th minute. He leads the team in scoring with four goals and four assists, good for 12 points.
Eames then scored the game-winner in the 79th minute with his second tally of the season.
Taylor, who posted his second shutout of the season on Friday, had to make just one save for the Falcons.
Air Force is idle until Wednesday, Oct. 9 when the Falcons travel to St. Louis, Mo., for a game against the St. Louis University. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
