Day Named To MWC All-Conference Team

Colorado Springs, Colo. - Air Force junior Cookie Day was named to the all-Mountain West Conference women's soccer team by the leagues seven head coaches. Day, a midfielder and team co-captain, was named to the second team.
Day, a native of Mansfield, Texas, was also named to the second-team as a sophomore in 2002. She has played in all 18 matches for the Falcons, starting 17, and is second on the team in goals (3), assists (2) and points (8). Day led the team with three game-winning goals. Her seven career game-winners is tied for the third highest total in AFA soccer history.
Wyoming's Anne Moore was named MWC coach of the year while Utah's Amber Rowe was named offensive player of the year. BYU's Aleisha Moore was named defensive player of the year and Utah's Amanda Feight was named freshman of the year.
Seventh-seeded Air Force faces second-seeded BYU in the first round of the MWC Tournament, Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 9:00 a.m. at Ute Field in Salt Lake City, Utah. The winner faces the winner of the Wyoming-New Mexico game Thursday, Nov. 6 at 11 a.m. The loser is eliminated.
The Falcons finished the regular season with a 7-11-1 overall record and 1-5-0 mark in the MWC.
