Falcons Struggle in 78-49 Loss to Wyoming

The Air Force women's basketball team suffered its sixth consecutive loss, falling to Wyoming 78-49. The Falcons continued to struggle with turnovers, committing 37 in the game. The team falls to 7-16 overall and 1-9 in the conference.
The Falcons got off to a tentative start, committing turnovers on their first 11 of their first 12 possessions. After six minutes, Air Force had notched just one shot and was staring at a 14-0 deficit. The team's first points came at the 13:47 mark on two free throws by Dana Pounds. Wyoming extended its lead to 24 points and led at the half, 39-15.
Air Force played much better in the second half. Until the late in the game, with the outcome not in question, the Falcons had outscored the Cowgirls. They had also done a better job shooting and a better job controlling the ball.
The Falcons finished the game shooting 34.3 percent (12-of-35). Jennifer Roesch led the Falcons in scoring with 19 points to tie a career high. Ali Butler added a career-high 12 points. The Falcons had just five assists, their lowest assist total this season. Their 37 turnovers was the team's third highest turnover total this season.
The Falcons (7-16, 1-9 MWC) will next head to the road for a two-game trip. They take on San Diego State on Feb. 27th at 8 p.m., followed by UNLV on March 1st at 8:35 p.m.
