Lamecca Jefferson Named Conference Player of the Week

Air Force outside hitter Lamecca Jefferson earned Mountain West Conference Volleyball Player of the Week honors, marking her first overall award.
A 6-1 junior from Beeville, Texas (A.C. Jones HS), Jefferson had a breakout performance last week and was instrumental in the Falcons' three-game sweep over New Mexico, which snapped an eight-match losing streak to the Lobos.
Jefferson entered the match hitting .258 on the year and averaging .32 blocks per game, but erupted for a career-high .619 hitting percentage (15-2-21) and six total blocks (2.0 blocks per game). Her 5.0 kills per game last week also eclipsed her 2.98 kpg season average. Air Force is off to a 10-4 start this season, including a perfect 4-0 mark at home.
