The Air Force volleyball team will travel to Atlanta for the Georgia State Invitatational tournament. Beginning Friday (Sept. 5) The Falcons will face four teams, including South Alabama, Virginia Commonwealth, Samford and host Georgia State.

RECORDS:
The tournament marks the second consecutive road tournament for the Falcons. This year's and last year's records are as follows:

Air Force -- 2-1, 8-22
GSU -- 5-0, 25-14
South Alabama -- 0-0, 5-20
Va. Commonwealth -- 2-2, 16-13
Samford -- 0-3, 13-14
AIR FORCE vs. the FIELD:
The Falcons will be facing three teams for the first time in team history. They have never played Virginia Commonwealth, Samford or South Alabama. They are 1-1 against Georgia State. Last season, the Falcons notched a 3-0 (30-22, 30-28, 30-21) win over the Panthers at the Academy.
SCOUTING the OPPONENTS:
Georgia State - The Panthers are off to a great start, winning their first five matches of the season. They return three starters from last year, including the Sapp sisters -- Molly and Amanda. Amanda is averaging over four kills per game, while Molly is right behind her at 3.75 kpg. April Decoste is doing a great job at setter, notching 13 assists per game.
Samford - Samford is off to a slow start -- three losses in three matches. Hilary Gary leads the team in kills with 35 in three matches (3.2 p/g). Krista Kettering, the team's setter is averaging 11.55 assists per game. Virginia Commonwealth - The Rams are 2-2, defeating High Point and Appalachian State and falling to Georgia Southern and Georgia State. Laura Connell leads the team with a 3.21 kills per game average. Megan Bowell is the team's leading blocker with 11 total blocks.
South Alabama - The Jaguars have yet to play a game this season. They lost their two leading attackers, Selena Chidester and Holly Miller, who combined for nearly seven kills a game. Lacy Stejskal, who was second on the team in digs last season, returns for her sophomore season.
TEAM TO BEAT:
Tournament host Georgia State will be the team to beat at this tournament. They have momentum, as they have not lost a match this season. They will be on their own court and they will be looking for a little revenge, as the Falcons defeated them last season in Colorado Springs.
