Three Falcons Named Academic All-Confernece

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Three members of the Air Force volleyball team were named to the Academic All-Mountain West Conference team, the conference office announced today. Delavane Diaz, Jenalee Burke and Kristin Hamlett were three of the 317 student-athletes from football, volleyball, women's soccer, and men's and women's cross country that were named the all-conference academic team.
A 2003 Academic All-American and 2004-05 Rhodes Scholar-elect, Diaz earned all-conference academic honors each year of her career. She is the only Falcon to accomplish that feat. Hamlett was a 2002 academic all-MWC selection, while Burke is making her first appearance on the conference list.

To be considered for the Academic All-Mountain West Conference team, the student-athlete must have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, completed at least one academic semester and be a significant contributor on their respective teams.
