Anthony Park Named MWC Athlete of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Air Force senior jumper Anthony Park (Las Vegas, Nev.) was named the Mountain West Conference Men's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced today (Feb. 26).
Park earned the honor after winning a pair of events at the Don Barrett/Air Force Open on Feb. 21. The two-sport athlete (track/field and football) set a new all-time Academy record, en route to winning the triple jump. His mark of 50'6?" bested the previous record that Gregg Marshall had set in 1984. It is currently the second-best distance in the conference this season.
Park also won long jump with a season-best distance of 23'4?". That is the fourth-best mark in the conference this season.
This is Park's first career conference honor and the second by a Falcon in the past three weeks. (Classmate Sean Temple won the MWC weekly award on Feb. 10.) Park shared the honor with Andrea Batt from Wyoming, who earned the women's weekly honor.
