Two Falcons Qualify To the NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Two members of the Air Force men's gymnastics team qualified for the National Collegiate Men's Gymnastics Championship in the all-around, the NCAA announced today (March 23). Sophomore Greg Stine (Houston, Texas) and senior Jeff Andersen (Marietta, Ga.) will be competing as unattached competitors in the all-around.
With a national qualifying score of 52.995, Stine has the highest all-around score of the six competitors, while Andersen is in the No. 3 position with a NQS of 52.230. They will be joined by two gymnasts from William and Mary, as well as one from Southern Connecticut State and one from Navy.
The national qualifying competition is divided up into two sessions. The top three teams from each session will advance to the finals, as well as the top three all-around competitors that are not on an advancing team and the top three individual event specialists that are not on an advancing team or moving on in the all-around.
Stine and Andersen will compete at 1 p.m., on Friday, April 2. Both sessions of the national qualifiers will be held at Assembly Hall in Champaign, Ill. The finals will also be held on the campus of the University of Illinois on April 3-4.
