Air Force Wraps Up Season Hosting New Mexico
The Air Force women's soccer team (3-10-3, 0-3-1) plays host to New Mexico (7-6-4, 1-2-3) in its season finale this Friday, Oct 27 at 4 p.m. Seven Falcon seniors will be playing in their final game at the Cadet Soccer Stadium.
Last Time Out
The Falcons lost 2-0 to UNLV and tied TCU 0-0 last week. Against the Rebels, the Falcons surrendered a pair of late-game goals to lose 2-0. Air Force extended their scoreless streak to four games on Sunday with the 0-0 tie with TCU.
Statistical Leaders
Senior Brittney Perkowski leads the team in scoring with two goals and an five points. Sophomore Rachael Emory leads the team with three assists. Sophomore Erin Wallace has started 17 of the 18 games at goalkeeper for the Falcons and has a 1.28 goals-against-average and is second in the conference with 78 saves.
History Against The Opponents
- AFA is 7-6-0 all-time against UNM. Last year, New Mexico downed AFA 2-1 at the Academy. Ashley Parker scored the Falcon goal in the loss. - The Falcons last defeated UNM in 2003, a 2-0 win, for the team's last conference win.
Scouting The Opponents
New Mexico is 7-6-4 on the season and is in six place in the MWC with a 1-2-3 conference record. The Lobos downed San Diego State, 2-0, and tied BYU, 1-1, last weekend. UNM is led offensively by senior forward Bridgette Sanchez, who leads the team with four goals and four assists. Sophomore Shannon Adragna has started all 17 games at goalkeeper and has a 0.78 GAA to go with 51 saves and five shutouts.
Falcon Seniors
Seven Falcon seniors will be playing in their final match Friday. Erin Fitzpatrick, Melinda Mokos, Ashley Parker, Brittney Perkowski, Katie Plichta, Lindsay Temes and Alison Wood comprise the Falcon women's soccer senior class of 2006-07.
