USAF ACADEMY, Colo. -- Air Force will host four teams at the Academy this season, the women's gymnastics team recently announced as it unveiled the 2007 schedule. The Falcons will host a pair of meets to open the month of February and close out March with another pair of meets.
The Falcons open the season on Jan. 13, when they travel up Interstate-25 to face local rival Denver. Two weeks later (Jan. 27), Air Force heads to Pennsylvania for a showdown with Pittsburgh.
Air Force begins the second month of competition with a pair of home meets in the Cadet West Gym. The Falcons welcome Mountain Pacific Sports Federation foe Seattle-Pacific to the Academy on Feb. 2, before hosting UC-Davis on Feb. 4.
Six straight road competitions that zig-zag across the country await the Falcons, who begin that journey in Columbus, Ohio, on Feb. 10, during a meet with Ohio State. Air Force then travels to Davis, Calif., for a rematch with UC-Davis, before returning to the Eastern Time zone on Feb. 25, for a competition with Western Michigan.
The Falcons head to Shreveport, La., for a pair of meets with Centenary College on Mar. 2 and Mar. 4, before closing out the long road trip with the first of two meets with Cal-Berkeley. The Falcons return to the Academy the following week, hosting the Golden Bears on Mar. 18. Air Force closes out the season the same way it began ... a meet with Denver. Following the final home meet of the season on Mar. 25, the Falcons travel to Seattle, Wash., for the MPSF Championships.
