Two Falcons in Top-Four of Decathlon After Day One

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Air Force track and field multi-event athletes hold two of the top four spots after the first day of action (March 22) at the Glenn Morris Mulit-Meet in Fort Collins, Colo. Sophomore Skylar Morgan is currently second (the top collegian), while junior Matt Gensic is fourth.
Morgan recorded 3361 points during the first five events. Included in that total are a 100-meter dash time of 11.83 and a 400-meter dash time of 52.70. Morgan also threw a 37'0½" in the shot put and cleared a season-best jump of 6'4¾".
Gensic's first day tally of 3226 is just 11 points behind the current third-place athlete. Gensic accounted for a 100-meter dash time of 11.74, while he finished the 400-meter dash in 51.74. In addition, he recorded distances of 34'2" in the shot put and 5'10¾" in the high jump.
On the women's side, freshman Danielle McCarty is in seventh place after the first four events of the heptathlon. With 2218 points, McCarty has accounted for times of 17.22 in the 100-meter hurdles and 27.45 in the 200-meter dash, as well as a height of 4'10¼" in the high jump and a distance of 24'10½".
