Falcons Head To Toys For Tots Tournament
The Air Force women's soccer team heads to the Toys for Tots Tournament in St. Louis, Mo., for a pair of weekend matches. The Falcon take on Army this Friday, Sept. 14 and Southeast Missouri State on Sunday, Sept. 16.
Last Week
Air Force defeated Davidson, 1-0, and tied McNeese State, 0-0. In addition, the Falcons' game against Northern Colorado, slated for Wed., Sept. 5, was postponed due to weather issues. The UNC match has been rescheduled for Oct. 9 at 4 p.m. at the Academy.
Army defeated Mt. St. Mary's 1-0 and lost to Duquesne 4-0 at the Duquesne Invitational.
SEMO lost to Missouri State 1-0 and defeated DePaul 4-1.
Streaks
Air Force has a one game winning streak and is unbeated in its last two games.
Army and SEMO have one game losing streaks.
Last Meeting
Air Force lost 2-1 to Army last year at the BAE Systems Classic at West Point, N.Y.
In their only ever meeting, SEMO defeated AFA 2-1 at the Toys for Tots Tournament back in 2004.
Coaches
Air Force is coached by Marty Buckley (Chico State, 1978) who is 109-169-18 in his 17th season at the Academy.
Army is coached by Geno Ventriglia (New Paltz, 1967) who is 244-152-23 in his 22nd year.
SEMO is coached by Heather Nelson (Saskatchewan, 1992) who is 90-47-13 in her ninth year.
Series History
Air Force is 5-7 all-time against Army. The Falcons' last win over Army came at the Toys for Tots Tourney in 2005, a 2-1 Falcon win.
Air Force and SEMO meet for the second time ever.
Team Leaders
Junior Roni Yadlin and sophomore Ashley Collins have scored the two lone goals for the Falcons.
Junior Erin Wallace has started three of the four games at goalkeeper for the Falcons. Wallace has a 0.83 Goals Allowed Average. Wallace has two shutouts on the season and has not allowed a goal in her last 225 minutes and 44 seconds in front of the net.
Scouting The Opponents
Army enters the weekend with a 1-2 record. Sophomore midfielder Caitlyn Gallagher has scored Army's lone goal on the season. Sophomore Brittany Fearnside has started two of three games at goalkeeper for the Black Knights and has a 1.60 GAA in 225 minutes.
SEMO is 2-1 entering the week (has a midweek game against Evansville). Senior Alaina Lacopo and freshman Ashley Runion are tied for teh team lead with two goals and one assist apiece. Senior Lindsay Pickering has started all three games at goalkeeper for the Redhawks and has a 0.80 GAA in 225 minutes.

Air Force travels northwest to take part in the Idaho State Tournament in Pocatello, Idaho. The Falcons take on Northern Iowa on Sept. 21 and host Idaho State on Sept. 23.
