Falcons Head To Shootout At Angel Park

The Air Force golf team is back in action this weekend, Sept. 29-30, at the Shootout at Angel Park, hosted by Hawaii. The 54-hole tournament, being played at the 6,722-yard, par-71 Angel Park Golf Course in Las Vegas, Nev., is slated to begin with two rounds on Saturday, starting at 7:30 a.m. The final round will begin at 8:00 on Sunday morning.
Last Time Out...
Air Force was in action at the Jim Colbert Intercollegiate earlier this week, finishing in eighth place. Pacing the Falcons at the tournament was sophomore Tom Whitney, who posted the team's first top-10 finish of the season, firing a 223 to tie for eighth as an individual. Meanwhile, junior Shaun O'Bryant and freshman Jack Kasting tied for 40th place at 236. Rounding out the group for Air Force were Andrew Gibson, Bob Whitney and Matt Tanis, competing as an individual.

Seventeen teams are slated to compete in this year's invitational. The full list, with the latest Golfweek/Sagarin ratings in parentheses, follows: Air Force (189), Arizona (106), Arizona State (14), Boise State, UC Riverside (191), Cal State Bakersfield, Cal State Northridge, George Mason, Gonzaga, Hawaii, Jacksonville (125), Louisiana Tech (93), San Jose State (95), Southern Utah (200), UNLV (44), UTEP (100) and Utah Valley State.
