Air Force Hosts New Mexico and TCU
The Air Force women's soccer team plays host to New Mexico and TCU in Mountain West Conference action Oct. 10 & 12 at the Cadet Soccer Stadium. The Falcons host the Lobos on Friday, Oct. 10 at 6 p.m. and the Horned Frogs on Sunday, Oct. 12 at 1p.m.
Last Week
Air Force dropped a 1-0 match at Wyoming. The lone goal was scored in the 65th minute by Laine Hubbard. Freshman Ariana Green made her first-career start in front of the net for the Falcons and recorded five saves.
Falcon Scoring Leaders
Freshman Bridgett Murphy leads Air Force with six goals scored. Senior Roni Yadlin is second on the team with three goals and seven points.

Air Force freshman forward Bridgett Murphy leads the Falcons with six goals scored on the season and has scored a goal in three of the Falcons' last four games. Her six goals scored on the season are the most by a Falcon since 2001 and the most by a freshman since Jennifer Rowland scored seven in 2001.
One of Nation's Youngest Teams
Air Force has 16 freshmen on its roster. That total makes up 64 percent of the roster. The Falcons have started six freshmen four times this year and at least five freshmen in eight of nine games.
Falcons Split Goal Keeping Duties
With a goalkeeper-by-committee approach, junior Ashlee Curtis and senior Erin Wallace have split time in front of the Falcon net. With Curtis getting injured against San Jose State, freshman Ariana Green has also jumped into the mix, earning the start against Wyoming. Curtis has made six starts and logged 559:43 minutes in front of the net and has a 1.29 goals-against average. Wallace has made four starts and logged 301:02 minutes and has a 1.79 GAA. Green has logged 135 minutes and has a 0.67 GAA. The three have combined to record 42 saves and post a 1.36 GAA.
Scouting The Opponents
New Mexico is 5-3-4, 0-1 entering the weekend after dropping at 3-1 match at TCU. Jennifer Williams and Zaneta Wyne lead the team with four goals scored and Hannah Hand leads the team with seven assists and 11 points. Senior Shannon Adragna has logged all 1,160 minutes in front of the net for the Lobos and has a 1.16 GAA.
TCU is 9-1-1 entering the weekend after defeating Wyoming 3-1. Freshman Jordan Calhoun leads the Frogs with 11 goals scored. Sophomore Kelsey Walters has logged 979 minutes in front of the net for TCU and has a 0.64 GAA.
The Coaches
Marty Buckley is in his 17th year as the head coach at Air Force. The 1978 Chico State (CA) grad. has a 113-189-19 record at the Academy.
Kit Vela is in her seventh year as head coach at New Mexico. The 1990 Brown grad. has a 53-66-24 record as a head coach.
Dan Abdalla is in his fourth year as head coach at TCU. The 1997 UNLV grad. has a 29-32-5 record at TCU and is 83-59-13 in nine years as a head coach.
Opponent Connections
- Sophomore defender Lyndsey Horn is the lone Falcon from New Mexico. Horn is a native of Albuquerque and attended the Albuquerque Academy.
New Mexico has four players on its roster from Colorado:

Series History vs. New Mexico
Air Force is 7-8 all-time against New Mexico. Air Force and UNM first played in 1993, a 2-1 loss in Albuquerque. The Lobos have won the last seven meetings. Air Force's last win over New Mexico came in 2003, a 2-0 win at the Academy. Last year, the Lobos won 1-0 in overtime in Albuquerque.
