The Air Force women's basketball team plays host to Chadron State and Milwaukee this week. The Falcons host Chadron State on Thursday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. and UWM on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 12 p.m. . A live radio broadcast will be available for the UWM game on the internet at www.am920thewolf.com
Scouting Air Force
Air Force is 0-1 on the season after a 73-53 loss last Friday at home to Northern Colorado. Sophomore guard Raimee Beck led the team offensively, scoring 18 points against Northern Colorado. Senior Kim Kreke recorded her first-career double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Air Force In 2007-08
Air Force went 10-19 in 2007-09. The Falcons were 4-12 in Mountain West Conference play, finishing in seventh place. The four conference wins and seventh place finish were all-time bests in MWC play for Air Force. Senior forward Alecia Steele led Air Force in scoring and rebounding, averaging 12 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Steele was also named team MVP. Steele and senior guard Pamela Findlay earned all-MWC honors.
Scouting Chadron State
Chadron State is 0-2 on the season after losing 111-75 to Southwest Minnesota State and 102-89 to Augustana (S.D.) last week. The Eagles, located in Chadron, Neb., and a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, are led offensively by junior guard Sunni Busch, who leads the team with 18.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game.
Scouting Milwaukee
Wisconsin-Milwaukee is 0-2 on the season after dropping a pair of games at the Wolfpack Invitational in Raleigh, N.C. last week. The Panthers, a member of the Horizon League, lost 77-42 to N.C. State and 77-65 to USC. Milwaukee is averaging 53.5 point per game and is led offensively by senior center Traci Edwards, who is averaging 19.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.
Series History vs. Chadron State
Air Force is 2-1 all-time against Chadron State. The two teams first met on Jan. 8, 1981, an 84-52 Air Force win at the Academy. The teams last played each other in 1984, splitting a home-and-home series.

Last Meeting vs. Milwaukee
Unable to overcome a sluggish opening half, the Air Force women's basketball team fell to Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 65-53, Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006, at the Klotsche Center.
UWM began the game on a 7-0 run to get off to a solid start, while the Falcons could never get closer than five points. Air Force struggled in the opening half, shooting just 16 percent from the field, while giving up 21 rebounds. Meanwhile, the Panthers hit nearly 47 percent of their shots in the first stanza en route to a 36-13 lead at intermission.
The Falcons gradually began chipping away at their deficit, but the Panthers had an answer for every Air Force run. The Falcons were unable to get any closer than 15 points, until the final seconds of the game when senior Letricia Castillo (Anchorage, Alaska) knocked down her fourth three-pointer of the contest.
Castillo led the team with 18 points, eight of which came in the final 48 seconds, while junior Pamela Findlay (Glenview, Ill.) added 11 points and seven rebounds. Meanwhile, Traci Edwards led the Panthers with 19 points and 13 rebounds.
Last Opponent from Wisconsin
The last team Air Force played from the state of Wisconsin was the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2007. The Falcons lost to the Badgers, 74-60, on Dec. 9, 2007 in Madison.

Northern Colorado Game Recap
The Air Force women's basketball team opened its 2008-09 regular season with a 73-53 loss to Northern Colorado Friday night at Clune Arena. A 22-0 run by Northern Colorado in the first-half ultimately decided the game early on.
Trailing 15-9 with over 13 minutes left in the first-half, Air Force failed to score over the next 11 minutes and fell behind 37-9 before Brooke Cultra snapped the drought with a three-point basket with three minutes left to go in the half. The Bears took a 43-20 lead at the half.
Northern Colorado shot a blistering 57.9 percent from three-point range, canning 11-of-19 from long distance. The Bears shot 50.9 percent from the field. Colorado Springs native freshman Cassie Lambrecht led UNC with 13 points in just 12 minutes off the bench. Courtney Stoermer added 12 points and Kate Kevorken 11 for the Bears.
Air Force shot a dismal 30.5 percent from the field, including a cold 21.9 percent in the first half.
Sophomore Raimee Beck recovered from a slow first-half to lead the team with 18 points, 15 coming in the second-half. Senior Kim Kreke notched her first-career double-double with 10 points and a career-high 11 rebounds. Beck and Kreke also had four steals apiece to lead the team.
Senior Brooke Cultra was just shy of a double-double for the Falcons, scoring nine points and pulling down nine rebounds. Junior Kathleen Schjodt added nine points and six rebounds in 29 minutes off the bench. Sophomore Stevie Puentes led Air Force with three assists in her first-career start for the Falcons at point guard.
Despite the slow start, Air Force finished off the game on a stronger note, out-scoring UNC 33-30 in the second. Air Force did well at the free-throw line, sinking 86.7 percent of its attempts.
The Falcons suffered another setback early in the first-half when starting forward Dana Loveless went down with a leg injury and did not return the rest of the game.
Air Force-Northern Colorado Notes
- Air Force's 86.7 (13-15) team free throw percentage was its best mark since making 88.9 (8-9) percent against TCU on Feb. 2, 2008.
- AFA out-rebounded UNC 33-19.

A record seven Air Force women's basketball regular season games will be televised. The Falcons will have four games on the Mountain West Sports Network (Mtn.) and games on CBS College Sports (CBS C), Fox Rocky Mountain (Fox RM) and BYU TV. Air Force could also have games televised at the MWC Championships.

Four-Straight At Home To Start `08
Air Force starts its first four games of thes season at home. The last time that happenned was in 2002, when the Falcons started the year 2-2. The most consecutive home games to start the season was in 1978 when the Falcons opened the season with five games, all wins.
Team Captains
Seniors Brooke Cultra and Kim Kreke have been named team co-captains for the 2008-09 season. Cultra is a three-year letterwinner and returning starter at shooting guard. Kreke is also a three-year letterwinner and returning starter at center.

Nine letterwinners and three starters return for the Falcons.
Sophomore Raimee Beck, senior Brooke Cultra and senior Kim Kreke are Air Forces returning starters.
