Falcons Host Barry University
The Air Force women's basketball team plays host to Barry University Monday, Dec. 1, at Clune Arena. Tip off is at 7 p.m. The game can be listened to live via internet radio.
Scouting Air Force
Air Force is 1-4 on the season after dropping a 54-44 game at home to Army on Saturday. Senior guard Brooke Cultra leads the team offensively, scoring 15.4 points per game to go with 7.2 rebounds per game. Senior Kim Kreke is the top rebounder in the conference averaging 13.4 boards per game.
Air Force In 2007-08
Air Force went 10-19 in 2007-09. The Falcons were 4-12 in Mountain West Conference play, finishing in seventh place. The four conference wins and seventh place finish were all-time bests in MWC play for Air Force. Senior forward Alecia Steele led Air Force in scoring and rebounding, averaging 12 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Steele was also named team MVP. Steele and senior guard Pamela Findlay earned all-MWC honors.
Scouting Barry
Barry is a perfect 6-0 on the season after defeating Colorado Christian 61-55 Saturday to claim the CCU Thanksgiving Tournament. The Buccaneers, from Miami Shores, Fla., members of the Sunshine State Conference, are averaging 68.0 points per game and allowing 57.0 ppg. Barry is led by senior guard Princess Bailey, who leads the team with 14.3 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per game.
Looking To Get Past 50
Air Force has been held to 48-or-fewer point in its last three contests. It is the first time in school history Air Force has had three-consecutive games of scoring under 50 points in non-conference play.
MWC's Top Defense
Air Force has the Mountain West Conference's top team defense, allowing 57.8 points per game. That total is six points per game fewer than the all-time Div. I era school record of 64.1 ppg by the 2004-05 team. The Falcons have held four of their five opponents to 57 or fewer points.

Air Force vs. Barry
Air Force takes on Barry for the first time in school history. The last teams from the state of Florida that Air Force has played, were Rollins College and Florida Tech back in 1995.

Air Force assistant coach Cassie Bro was an assistant coach at Barry College prior to her stint at Air Force. Bro was an assistant coach under Barry coach Bill Sullivan during the 2005-06 season.
Army Game Recap
Army closed out the game with a 17-2 run and rallied to a 54-44 win over Air Force in service academy women's basketball action Saturday afternoon at Clune Arena. After trailing for much of the second-half, Air Force pulled ahead of Army 42-37 with a three-point basket by Kim Kreke with 4:23 to go. Army then went on a 15-0 run to jump ahead 53-42 and pull away for good.
The Black Knights defense scored 22 points off 23 Air Force turnovers and got to the free-throw line 21 times, making 14. Air Force never really got in sync offensively, shooting 34.8 percent from the field and 28.6 percent from three-point range.
Alex McGuire led Army with 16 points, including four three-point baskets. Erin Anthony added 12 points and seven rebounds for the Knights.
Kreke led Air Force with 15 points and 11 rebounds. It was Kreke's second double-double of the season and her fifth-consecutive game with at least 11 boards. Brooke Cultra added eight points and six rebounds to go with a team-high three assists.
Raimee Beck also chipped in with seven points and eight rebounds and Kathleen Schjodt sparked the Falcons with five points and three rebounds off the bench.
The first-half was a see-saw battle with Army taking a 24-22 lead into the half. Army steadily held the lead throughout the second-half before Air Force made their move with seven minutes remaining.
The Falcons took their first lead of the second period, 37-35, on a pair of free throw shots by Beck with 6:11 to play. With the score knotted at 37-37, Air Force seemed to pull away as Kreke scored five consecutive points, concluding with the three-point basket.
Kreke MWC's Top Rebounder
Kim Kreke leads the Mountain West Conference with 13.4 rebounds per game. The next closest player is UNLV's Shamela Hampton with 10.4 rebounds per game. Kreke averaged 4.6 rebounds per game as a junior. She has at least 11 rebounds in all four games.

Falcons At or Near Top In Several MWC Categories
Air Force is the Mountain West Conference's top defensive and free throw shooting team. The Falcons are allowing just 57.8 points per game and making 83 percent from the line.
The Falcons also rank fourth in rebounding, pulling down 41 rebounds per game. The Falcons allowed 64.5 points per game, shot 71.4 percent from the line and averaged 35.7 rebounds per game in 2007-08.

Kreke Sets Academy Div. I Rebounding Mark
Kim Kreke recorded 19 rebounds against Milwaukee. That total is an Air Force Div. I record, eclipsing the previous mark of 16 set by Mollie Peters vs. Texas-Pan American on Nov. 23, 1997. The 19 rebounds ties for the fourth-most in Air Force history, the seventh-highest mark in Mountain West Conference history and the second-highest total by a senior in MWC history.

With four blocked shots against Chadron State and one against Milwaukee, senior Kim Kreke now has 57 blocks for her career. That total is the most Air Force in the Div. I era, surpassing Ellen Jaeshke. Kreke currently ranks 6th all-time in shot blocks.

Cultra Off To Strong Senior Campaign
Senior Brooke Cultra is off to a hot start so far this season. Cultra is Air Force's leading scorer, averaging 15.4 points per game and second-leading rebounder, averaging 7.2 boards per game. Cultra is eighth in the conference in scoring and sixth in rebounding. The senior guard had back-to-back games where she reached her career-high for points in a game. Cultra scored 19 points against Chadron State and 25 against Milwaukee. She recently led the team with 16 points against Texas-Pan American.
Beck Emerging As A Scorer
After making the switch to shooting guard, sophomore shooting guard Raimee Beck is becoming one of the conference's top scorers and rebounders. Beck ranks second on the team, averaging 10.8 points per game and her 7.0 rebounds per game ranks eighth in the conference. Beck averaged nine points per game as a freshman point guard. Beck scored 18 points in the season-opener vs. Northern Colorado and 21 points against Chadron State.
Sophomore Class Emerging
Several Air Force sophomores have shown improvement since their freshmen campaigns. Guard Stevie Puentes and center Liz Dunsworth have already surpassed their point and minutes played totals as freshmen and guard Raimee Beck has improved her scoring and rebounding averages.

Lone Junior Schjodt Also Emerges
Kathleen Schjodt, the lone junior on the team, has also provided solid minutes this year. After seeing limited minutes as a freshman and even less time as a sophomore due to injury, the junior has already started in a game and has already surpassed her minutes played the first two years combined.

Broadcast Schedule Announced
Fifteen regular-season Air Force women's basketball games will be broadcast for the 2008-09 season. In addition to the regular season broadcast schedule, all Mountain West Conference Tournament games will be broadcast.
The 15 broadcast games will all be available for free at www.GoAirForceFalcons.com. Eleven of those games will be on the air in Colorado Springs on KCS 1300 AM.
Jay Ritchie, in his 22nd season of broadcasting Air Force athletics, will handle the play-by-play duties. In addition, Tony Desiere will handle select broadcasts as well.

Injury Sidelines Loveless For Remainder Of Season
Senior power forward Dana Loveless will miss the remainder of the 2008-09 season after suffering a sprained ankle and torn left ACL in the season-opener against Northern Colorado. Both injuries happened on the same play just eight minutes into the game.
Falcons Picked To Finish Ninth In MWC
In the preseason conference poll released in October, Air Force was chosen by the coaches and select media to finish ninth in the Mountain West.

Seven Regular Season Games on TV
A record seven Air Force women's basketball regular season games will be televised. The Falcons will have four games on the Mountain West Sports Network (Mtn.) and games on CBS College Sports (CBS C), Fox Rocky Mountain (Fox RM) and BYU TV. Air Force could also have games televised at the MWC Championships.

Seniors Brooke Cultra and Kim Kreke have been named team co-captains for the 2008-09 season. Cultra is a three-year letterwinner and returning starter at shooting guard. Kreke is also a three-year letterwinner and returning starter at center.
