Last Meeting vs. Wyoming
The Air Force women's basketball team lost to #20/22 Wyoming, in Mountain West Conference action Wednesday night in Clune Arena. Seniors Alecia Steele and Jamie Davis combined to score 37 points for the Falcons. Wyoming hit on a season-high 12 three-point baskets, while Hanna Zavecz and Jodi Bolerjack combined to score 43 points. The Cowgirls hit 50 percent of their three's and made 56.6 percent of their shots from the floor. Zavecz, who scored Wyoming's first 11 points of the game, finished with a season-high 27 points. The senior was 11-of-13 from the field and 4-for-5 from long distance. Bolerjack was 5of-8 from behind the arc and finished with 16 points. Steele returned froman ankle injury suffered two games ago against Utah, tying a season-high of 22 points to go with a game-high eight rebounds. Steele was also a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line. Davis, who earned her first start of the season, scored a career-high 15 points, making 6-of-11 from the field. Air Force shot 40.4 percent from the field and had a stellar day at the free-throw line, making 92.9 percent of its attempts (13-of-14). The Falcons kept the game within single digits for most of the first-half, but it was Wyoming's three-point shooting that was the difference. The Falcons were 0-for-6 from long-distance, their first game this season without a three, snapping a string of 25 straight with a three.
Scouting Wyoming
- Wyoming enters the weekend with a 19-4 overall record and 7-3 conference mark after losing at TCU on Wednesday.
