USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Highlighted by three incursions within the top-six, the No. 15 Air Force men's gymnastics team continues to dot the national rankings. Under third-year head coach Kip Simons, the Falcons continue to shine on the still rings. Backed by senior Greg Stine and junior Jacob Schonig, Air Force is currently ranked seventh in the country on the rings with a three-score average of 58.667.
Heading into the bye-week, Stine is currently ranked fourth on the still rings with a three-score average of 15.600, while Schonig is ranked sixth with a 15.400 average. Air Force is one of just three programs to boast two gymnasts within the top-10.
Stine is also ranked fifth, nationally, in the all-around with a combined average of 87.583, while standing in 18th on the floor exercise at 15.100.
It is the first time since the 2004 season that Air Force has had an athlete ranked among the nation's elite on an individual event this late into the season. The Falcons are off from competition this weekend. Air Force will travel to Lincoln, Neb., on Saturday, March 22, to close out the regular season with a dual meet against No. 11 Nebraska.
