FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Air Force sophomore Nick Frawley cleared 17'0¾" to finish 15th in the men's pole vault at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday, March 14, in Fayetteville, Ark. The 15th-place finish is a two-spot improvement from last year's outing at the outdoor national championships.
Not counting the eventual tie-breaking procedures, Frawley's mark of 17'0¾" was the fourth-best height of the night, with seven athletes accounting for that clearance. It was the third time this season that Frawley has cleared the 17-foot plateau. Binghamton's Rory Quiller won the national title with a height of 18'0½".
Classmate Melissa Beerse concludes the indoor season tomorrow (March 15), when she competes in the women's pole vault at 5 p.m. (CST).
