Falcons Conclude Competition at Willie Williams Classic

TUCSON, Ariz. - Highlighted by eight top-six finishes, the Air Force track and field team wrapped up competition at the Willie Williams Classic on Saturday, March 22, in Tucson, Ariz. Freshman Rachel Simmons was the Falcons' top finisher, as she picked up a third-place finish in the pole vault. Simmons' 11'7¾" is tied for the third-best height in Academy history.
Sophomore Sara Neubauer placed fourth in the discus behind a toss of 151'0". Senior Kelly Robinson also picked up a sixth-place finish in the 800-meter run, after crossing the finish line in 2:16.95.
On the men's side, junior Kellen Curry finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles, as he finished fourth with a time of 14.41. Senior Travis Picou, who finished sixth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.72, ran the third leg of the 4x400-meter relay that finished fifth in a time of 3:20.93. Freshman Noah Palicia ran the opening leg, while seniors John Payne, Picou and Kevin Hawkins finished off the relay.
The Falcons remain in the state of Arizona, as a part of their spring break training trip. Up next for Air Force is a trip to Tempe for the Arizona State Invitational on Saturday, March 29.
