Greg Stine Finishes Sixth on Rings in NCAA Finals

PALO ALTO, Calif. - In his final collegiate performance, Air Force senior Greg Stine scored a 15.300 to place sixth on the still rings during the individual event finals of the 2008 NCAA Men's Gymnastics Championships on Saturday, April 19. With that placement, Stine earned his second top-eight finish of the three-day national meet in Palo Alto, Calif.
As the third competitor to perform on the rings, Stine cleared the 15-point plateau for the ninth time of his 16-meet season. Stine's placement amongst the prestigious top-eight was finalized as the next two competitors on the event finished behind him.
Oklahoma's Jonathan Horton, the 2008 Nissen-Emery winner, won the event with a score of 16.125. Joining Horton and Stine as the NCAA top-eight finishers on the still rings were Stanford's David Sender (15.775), Penn State's Tommy Ramos (15.725), Stanford's Bryant Hadgen (15.575), Michigan's Phillip Goldberg (15.475), Illinois' Jon Drollinger (15.275) and Penn State's Casey Sandy (15.050).
