Air Force Finishes Second Day at MWC Golf Championship

Tucson, Ariz. - With two rounds of competition under wraps, the Air Force golf team remains in ninth place at the Mountain West Conference Championship, being held at the 7,136 yard, par-71 Catalina Course at Tucson National. The Falcons, who fired a 7-over-par 291 on Friday, now sit just two strokes out of eighth place with a two-round score of 596 (+28).
Junior captain Shaun O'Bryant (Colorado Springs, Colo.), who fired a 2-under-par 69 in the second round, moved into a tie for 25th place to pace the Falcons. O'Bryant currently sits at 147 (+5) with one round remaining. Meanwhile, Andrew Gibson (Jr., San Ramon, Calif.) and Tom Whitney (So., La Quinta, Calif.) both sit two strokes behind O'Bryant in a tie for 32nd place.
Senior Bob Whitney (La Quinta, Calif.) is currently tied for 39th at 151, while freshman Kyle Bailey (Austin, Texas) rounds out the group for Air Force in a tie for 43rd place at 154.
TCU and BYU are currently tied for the team lead at 564 (-4), while UNLV's Eddie Olson sits atop the individual leaderboard with a two-round score of 139 (-3).
The final round begins tomorrow with a 7:00 a.m. (PT) start. Air Force will be in the first group to tee off, along with San Diego State and Wyoming.
