
Golfers travel to Iowa Hawkeye Invitational, April 20-21

THIS WEEK: The Air Force golf team will travel to Riverside, Iowa, for the annual Iowa Hawkeye Invitational, April 20-21, at the Bluetop Ridge Golf Course. Live scoring will be available on Scoreboard by Clippd.
THE LINEUP: The Air Force lineup is: 1-Eli Huntington; 2-Ben Zeiler; 3-Carson Baker; 4-Brooks Morrell; 5-Ted Davenport
THE FORMAT: Golfers will play 36 holes on the first day, April 20, with the final 18 holes on Tuesday, April 21. The shotgun start each day will begin at 9 am CT (8 am MT). Each team will play five golfers with the top four scores counting toward the team score each day.
THE FIELD: Air Force will compete against the host school, Iowa, along with DePaul, Drake, Missouri-Kansas City, Missouri State, North Dakota State, Northern Iowa, Omaha, SIU-Carbondale, South Dakota State, South Dakota, Valparaiso and Western Illinois, in the 14-team field.
ABOUT THE IOWA HAWKEYE INVITATIONAL: The 2026 Hawkeye Invitational marks the 32nd edition of Iowa's longest-running home event. Iowa has won three of the last six team titles dating back to 2019 (the event was canceled in 2020). Iowa has captured 17 team titles and produced 16 individual champions in the tournament's history. In 2019, Iowa's Matthew Walker and Alex Schaake shared medalist honors, each firing a program and tournament record 199 (-14) over 54 holes.
LOOKING AT THE FALCONS: Freshman Ben Zieler leads the team with a 74.28 season stroke average. Zieler has played in 18 of the team's 27 rounds, including all 12 this spring. Four Falcons have played all 27 team rounds this season. Junior Eli Huntington is second on the team with a 74.74 season stroke average. Junior Carson Baker is third (75.30), followed by senior Brooks Morrell (76.03) and senior Eric Liveringhouse (76.44). Huntington shot the team's lowest round of the season at Bandon Dunes with a 67 (-4) in the first round. Zeiler shot a 68 in the second round of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational – Individual (Sept. 21). Huntington, Zeiler, Baker and Liveringhouse all have a 69 on the card this season.
LAST TIME OUT: Junior Eli Huntington and freshman Ben Zeiler were the top Falcons at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational, April 4-5, in Augusta, Ga. Huntington and Zeiler each shot a 223 (+7). Junior Carson Baker shot a 225, followed by Brooks Morrell (235) and Eric Liveringhouse (236). North Carolina, ranked 16th in the nation, won the tournament with a three-round total of 810 (-54). Sixth-ranked Oklahoma State was second (825) and 14th-ranked Pepperdine was third (826). Air Force was 16th at 904 (+40). The tournament featured three teams ranked in the top 10 and seven in the top 26 in the nation.
UP NEXT: Air Force will conclude the regular season at the Mountain West Championships, May 3-5, at the Omni Tucson National Course in Tucson, Ariz.
