Trio of Falcons lead golfers in Iowa

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – A trio of golfers led the Falcons on the first day of the annual Iowa Hawkeye Invitational, Monday, April 20, at the Bluetop Ridge Golf Course in Riverside, Iowa.
Senior Ted Davenport and juniors Carson Baker and Eli Huntington finished the first 36 holes at a150 (+6), tying for 34th overall. Freshman Ben Zeiler is at 152 and senior Brooks Morrell is at 158.
In the opening round, Baker shot a one-under-par 71, making four birdies in the round. The 71 was Baker's seventh round at or under par this season. Junior Eli Huntington and freshman Ben Zeiler each shot 73 (+1), followed by senior Brooks Morrell (77) and senior Ted Davenport (79).
In the second round, Davenport shot a one-under 71, his best round of the season and just one stroke off of his collegiate career best. In the second round, Huntington shot a 77, followed by Baker and Zeiler (79) and Morrell (81).
After the first two rounds, Iowa, the host school, leads the field with a 565 (-11), followed by Southern Illinois (567, -9) and South Dakota State (581, +5). Air Force is in 11th place at 600 (294-306).
The final 18 holes of the annual Iowa Hawkeye Invitational will start at 8 am MT, Tuesday, April 21, at the Bluetop Ridge Golf Course in Riverside, Iowa.
