Air Force Hosts Ball State & Long Island
The Air Force women's soccer team hosts a pair of games this weekend at the Cadet Soccer Stadium. The Falcons take on Ball State this Friday, Sept. 5 and Long Island on Sunday, Sept. 7. Admission is free of all Air Force soccer home matches.

Last Week
Air Force dropped a pair of home matches last weekend. The Falcons lost 1-0 to Idaho State on Friday and 1-0 to Valparaiso on Sunday.
The Falcons attempted more shots than both opponents, but could not find the back of the net.
Falcon Leaders
Freshman Meagan Eissele leads the Falcons with one goal and senior Rachael Emory has one assist. Junior Ashlee Curtis and senior Erin Wallace have split duties in goal. Curtis has started two matches and has a 1.45 goals-against average. Wallace has one start and a 1.00 GAA. Freshman Bridgett Murphy has attempted a team-leading 12 shots. She has also attempted eight of the teams' 13 shots on goal.
A Young Team
Air Force has 16 freshmen on its roster. Five freshmen have started the last two games and at least 11 freshmen have seen action in every game.
Scouting The Opponents
Ball State enters the weekend with a 0-2 record after losing at Oklahoma 2-1 last weekend. Sarah Schumacker has scored the Cardinals lone goal this year. Rachael Murphy has logged 135 of the teams' 180 minutes in front of the net and has a 1.33 GAA.
Long Island enters the weekend with a 3-0 record after defeating Binghamton and Delaware State last weekend. Seven different players have scored goals for the Blackbirds. Amy Johnson and Christine DeLashmutt have split goalkeeping duties.
The Coaches
Marty Buckley is in his 17th year as the head coach at Air Force. The 1978 Chico State (CA) grad. has a 110-184-19 record at the Academy.
Michael Lovett is in his first year as a head coach. Lovett is a 2006 grad. of Murray State.
Tracey Bartholemew is in her ninth year as the head coach at Long Island. The 1994 Rochester grad. has a 73-75-7 record as a head coach..
Opponent Connections
Two players on the Long Island roster hail from Colorado. Christine DeLashmutt is a native of Columbine and attended Columbine High School. Samantha Post is a native of Littleton and attended Heritage High School.

Air Force takes on both Ball State and Long Island for the first-time ever.

Air Force plays hosts the Air Force Falcon Invitational next weekend, Sept. 12-14. The Falcons take on Army on Friday, Sept. 12 and Denver on Sunday, Sept. 14. Denver takes on Colorado College in the other match on Friday and Army takes on Colorado College on Sunday.
