USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force men's gymnastics team had a very loud fan base during its final home meet of the 2009 season this past weekend. Leading the cheers were the 13 members of the women's gymnastics team, decked out in hand-made "We Love Our Boys" tee-shirts.
"It was a very special afternoon for our seniors, as well as the entire team," men's head coach Kip Simons said. "Jake (Schonig) and Josiah (Loeser) have provided many memorable times over the last four years and it was great to have the girls' team out to support them at their farewell event here at USAFA."
The men's and women's teams are always supporting one another, whether it is assisting during the other team's respective home meets or leading the cheers from the stands.
"Coach (Doug) Day and I have worked hard since we took over our programs several years ago to create a synergistic environment between the men's and women's program. I think this picture says it all."
