Nick Frawley Invited to NCAA Indoor Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Air Force pole vaulter Nick Frawley will make his second consecutive trip to the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, the league office announced this evening (March 9). The junior automatically qualified for the national meet on Feb. 14, when he recorded a clearance of 18'1" to set a new Air Force Academy record.
Frawley, the Mountain West Conference leader in the pole vault, enters the weekend ranked fourth in the nation with the 18'1" bar. He is one of two vaulters from the league to earn a place among the field of 14. Frawley is also one of nine juniors in the field.
It will be the fourth national appearance for the Midlothian, Texas, native, who also competed at the outdoor championships as a freshman and sophomore. Frawley earned All-America accolades at the 2008 outdoor meet, after placing second.
This year's NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships begin Friday, March 13, in College Station, Texas. The men's pole vault is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. (CST) on Friday at the Gilliam Indoor Track and Field Center.
