Kurtz and Stilwell Named to La Salle All-Tournament Team

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Juniors Caroline Kurtz and Nichole Stilwell were named to the all-tournament team of the La Salle Invitational, the Explorers' athletic communications office announced at the conclusion of the tournament. It is the first all-tournament team selection for either Air Force player, who were both instrumental in the Falcons' 3-1 opening weekend.
Kurtz paced all Falcons with 47 kills and nine aces, while tying for the team lead with 39 digs. Stilwell, hitting .194 on the weekend, tallied nine total blocks, while adding 38 kills. Stilwell paced the Falcons in kills during both of Friday's matches, while Kurtz collected the most kills during matches on Saturday. Stilwell, hitting .406 against La Salle, also had a part of the top blocking totals in three of the four matches, while Kurtz tallied the team's highest totals in digs and aces during a pair of matches.
The Falcons were joined on the all-tournament team by Cleveland State's Jordan Goad (MVP) and Beth Greulich, Fairleigh Dickinson's Kelsey Semler and Meaghan Wheeler, Canisius' Allyson Severyn and La Salle's Rachel Stemper.
Cleveland State won the tournament with a 4-0 record, while Air Force finished second with a 3-1 mark. Fairleigh Dickinson split the weekend with a 2-2 mark, while Canisius (1-3) and La Salle (0-4) rounded out the field.
