Falcons Host San Diego State
The Air Force women's basketball team plays host to San Diego State this Wednesday, Feb. 3. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. Live internet radio and stats will be available for the game.
2009-10 Falcons
Air Force returns six letterwinners and three starters from last years team. Junior guard Raimee Beck is the Falcons' top returning scorer, averaging 12.9 points per game as a sophomore. Junior center Liz Dunsworth and sophomore point guard Anna Gault also started last year. Air Force welcomes nine freshmen to the team, the largest freshman class in school history.
Last Outing
Air Force dropped a 98-37 contest at Wyoming Saturday. Wyoming shot 75.5 percent from the field and made a school-record 20 three-point baskets. Junior guard Raimee Beck led Air Force with nine points and four rebounds.
Scouting Air Force
Air Force is 3-17 on the season. Junior guard Raimee Beck leads the team offensively, scoring 14.2 points per game to go with 6.6 rebounds per game. Sophomore guard Anna Gault ranks third in the confernce, averaging 5.1 assists per game. Air Force is averaging 54.8 points per game and allowing 69.4.
Scouting San Diego State
San Diego State is 13-6 on the season after defeating Colorado State, 59-38, on Saturday. Senior guard Jené Morris leads the team offensively, scoring 15.6 points per game to go with 2.4 rebounds. The Aztecs are averaging 63.8 points per game and allowing 56.7.

Air Force and San Diego State have met 24 times with the Aztecs having won 19 of the meetings.
- The two teams first met on Jan. 11, 1997, a 70-41 Aztec win in San Diego.

Last Meeting
The Air Force women's basketball team dropped a 55-37 Mountain West Conference game to San Diego State in front of a season-best crowd of 2,023 Saturday afternoon at Clune Arena. The duo of Quenese Davis and Paris Johnson combined to score 37 points for SDSU. Davis led the Aztecs with 22 points, seven assists and seven rebounds. Johnson scored 15 to go with five rebounds and three blocked shots. Air Force was led by sophomore Raimee Beck and senior Kim Kreke. Beck scored 14 points, had four rebounds and was 7-of-8 from the free throw line. Kreke scored six points and recorded 14 rebounds. Fueled by a loud contingent of cadet fans, the Falcons played one of their best games in conference play, hanging tough with the MWC's second-place team. Air Force led for much of the first-half until SDSU went on an 8-1 run over the last three minutes of play to lead 22-17 at the half. The Falcons played stellar defense in the first-half limiting the Aztecs to 35.7 percent shooting from the field. Air Force also didn't allow SDSU to take advantage of turnovers as the the Aztecs were limited to just four points off turnovers. Despite a tough shooting night (20.8 percent from the field), Air Force stayed in the game by getting to the free throw line and out-rebounding San Diego State 39-29. The Falcons got to the line 18 times, making 14. Air Force got within four points of SDSU at 39-35 with 5:37 left to go, put the Aztecs pulled away late.
Wyoming Game Recap
The Air Force women's basketball team dropped a 98-37 game at Wyoming Saturday afternoon at the Arena Auditorium.
Wyoming shot 75.5 percent from the field and made 20 three-point baskets for the game.
A blistering start by Wyoming put the game out of reach early. The Cowgirls made 14-of-16 from the field to start the game, including 7-of-9 from three-point range, to lead 35-7 less than 11 minutes in. Wyoming shot 84 percent from the field in the first-half (21-25), including 76.9 percent from three-point range (10-13) to lead 52-14 at the half.
Wyoming center Hillary Carlson was nearly unstoppable in the paint, scoring 21 points--all in the first-half--to go with five blocks. Carlson made all 10 of her shots in the first half and finished 10-of-11 from the field.
Sara Wilson scored 17 points and Jade Kennedy added 15 points and nine assists for the Cowgirls. Randi Richardson also finished in double-figures, scoring 12 points.
Air Force was led by junior guard Raimee Beck, who finished with nine points and four rebounds. Freshmen Alicia Leipprandt and Kelsey Berger added five points each.
Freshman guards Bethany Gross, Austyn Wilson and Danielle Sorrera scored their first-career points for the Falcons.
Injury Bug Hits Falcons
Several Air Force players have been affected by injuries so far in 2010. Sophomore guard Anna Gault has missed four consecutive games after suffering an ankle injury in practice on Jan. 16. Junior guard Raimee Beck has worn a facemask for every conference game after breaking her nose in late December. Junior forward Candice Chase sat out the Utah and New Mexico games recovering from concussion related symptoms from the BYU game.
Beck Leading The Way For Falcons
Junior guard Raimee Beck is off to a strong start so far in 2009-10. Beck had led Air Force in scoring 14 times and rebounding 14 times. She amongst the MWC top 10 in several categories.

Gault Amongst MWC Leaders In Assists
Sophomore point guard Anna Gault ranks second in the MWC in assists averaging 5.1 per game. Gault is already fifth all-time (Div. I era) in assists at Air Force.
Her current 5.1 apg puts her on pace for 143 assists in 28 games, which would shatter the Div. I record of 119 set by Latoya Howell in 2002-03.
Gault Dishes Out 12 vs. Colorado State
Sophomore point guard Anna Gault dished out a career-high 12 assists against Colorado State on Jan. 9. The 12 assists is the second highest total in Div. I history at Air Force. It was Gault's third double-digit assist game in her AFA career.
Freshmen Make Immediate Impact
Four Falcon freshmen are already already making immediate impacts for the Falcons. Four of Air Force's top six scorers are freshmen. Rookies Alicia Leipprandt, Kelsey Berger, Katie Hilbig and Dymond James, rank second-through-sixth in scoring for the Falcons.
Kelsey Berger - forward has started every game for the Falcons. Coming off a career-high 23 points against Colorado State. Second on team in scoring, averaging 7.9 ppg. Also second with 20 three's.
Dymond James - forward cracked starting lineup and started four consecutive games. Leads team with .440 field goal percentage, 9.0 PPG in conference and 55 trips to free throw line.
Alicia Leipprandt - Third in scoring, averaging 7.7 ppg in 15.2 mpg. Fourth on team in field goal pct (.403) and free throw attempts (46) and third with 11 three point baskets.
Katie Hilbig - forward is averaging 4.1 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. Third on team with 49 trips to the free throw line.
Team Captains
Senior Kathleen Schjodt and junior Raimee Beck have been named team co-captains for the 2009-10 season. Schjodt is a three-year letterwinner at forward. Beck is a two-year letterwinner and returning starter at guard.
Six Letterwinners and Three Starters Return
Six letterwinners and three starters return for the Falcons. Juniors Raimee Beck and Liz Dunsworth and sophomore Anna Gault are Air Forces returning starters. Senior Kathleen Schjodt, junior Candice Chase and sophomore Jamela Satterfield round out the other returners. In addition, sophomore Kira Gonzalez, who did not play in any game as a freshman, also returns.
