Falcons Open Up Spring Season at UTSA Oak Hills Invitational

The Air Force golf team will start out its spring season at the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational in San Antonio, Texas, Feb. 15-16. The 54-hole tournament is being played at the par-71, 6,765-yard Oak Hills Country Club. The first two rounds will take place on Monday, with the final round of 18 holes played on Tuesday. Last Time Out...
The Air Force golf team closed out the fall season with a 10th-place finish at the Turtle Bay Resort Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Hawaii. The Falcons, led by senior Tom Whitney, compiled a three-round score of 902.
Whitney finished tied for 11th place with a 1-under-par 215 (-1). Meanwhile, freshman Andrew Hoops was next in the individual standings for Air Force, placing 39th at 224.
The Field...
The field for this week's tournament features 14 teams, including 19th-ranked Texas Tech. The complete field, with Golfweek/Sagarin rankings in parentheses, follows: Air Force (148), Illinois State (93), Iowa State (76), Louisiana-Lafayette (116), North Texas (122), Oklahoma (98), Sam Houston State (92), Stephen F. Austin (121), Southeastern Louisiana (54), Texas State (105), Texas Tech (19), Tulsa (107), UTSA (199) and Wichita State (50).
