Air Force Downed By San Diego State, 68-48

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force women's basketball team dropped a 68-48 game to San Diego State Wednesday night in Clune Arena. The loss dropped the Falcons to 3-18, 0-8 on the season and lifted the Aztecs to 14-6, 6-2.
San Diego State got dominant post play from center Paris Johnson and forward Jessica Bradley. Johnson led the Aztecs with 17 points and eight rebounds. Bradley added 13 points and five rebounds. Guard Coco Davis also dished out 10 assists without scoring a point.
Freshman forward Kelsey Berger led Air Force with a game-high 18 points and a team-leading five rebounds. Junior guard Raimee Beck added nine points. Freshman guard Alicia Leipprant had a game-high three assists for the Falcons.
With the height advantage, SDSU out-rebounded AFA 40-25 and won the blocked shots battle 9-1. The Aztecs also dominated the points in the paint column, out-scoring the Falcons 48-14 inside.
San Diego State led 36-23 at halftime.
Air Force saw the return of sophomore point guard Anna Gault, who missed the previous four games to injury. Gault played 22 minutes and scored four points and dished out two assists.
Tonight's game tipped off at 7:15 due to San Diego State's bus breaking down en route to the Academy this afternoon.
Air Force returns to action Saturday, Feb. 6, at TCU. Tipoff is set for 12 p.m. CST and the game will be televised by the Mtn.
