Falcons Travel To TCU In Televised Game
The Air Force women's basketball travels to Fort Worth, Texas, to take on TCU this Saturday, Feb. 6. Tipoff is slated for 12 p.m., CST, and will be televised live by the Mountain West Sports Network (Mtn.). Live stats and internet radio will also be available for the game.
2009-10 Falcons
Air Force returns six letterwinners and three starters from last years team. Junior guard Raimee Beck is the Falcons' top returning scorer, averaging 12.9 points per game as a sophomore. Junior center Liz Dunsworth and sophomore point guard Anna Gault also started last year. Air Force welcomes nine freshmen to the team, the largest freshman class in school history.
Last Outing
Air Force dropped a 68-48 contest to San Diego State Wednesday. San Diego State won by out-rebounding Air Force 40-25 and winning the points in the paint battle, 48-14. Freshman forward Kelsey Berger led Air Force with 18 points and junior guard Raimee Beck added nine points.
Scouting Air Force
Air Force is 3-18 on the season. Junior guard Raimee Beck leads the team offensively, scoring 14.0 points per game to go with 6.5 rebounds per game. Sophomore guard Anna Gault ranks third in the confernce, averaging 4.9 assists per game. Air Force is averaging 54.4 points per game and allowing 69.3.
Scouting TCU
TCU is 16-5 on the season after defeating BYU, 64-40, on Wednesday. Junior guard Emily Carter leads the team offensively, scoring 15.0 points per game to go with 3.0 rebounds per game. The Horned Frogs are averaging 71.8 points per game and allowing 57.4.

- Air Force and TCU have met 15 times with the Horned Frogs having won the last 14 meetings.
- The two teams first met on Feb. 26, 1988, a 73-72 Air Force win at the Academy.
Last Meeting
The Air Force women's basketball team opened Mountain West Conference play with a 72-35 loss to #25 TCU Wednesday night at Clune Arena.
Emily Carter led TCU with 18 points and four three-point baskets. Delisa Gross added 10 points. Helena Sverrisdottir scored five points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out six assists.
Air Force was led by freshman guard Alicia Leipprandt, who came off the bench to score nine points and grab four rebounds. Freshman forward Dymond James, making her first-career start, followed with eight points and six rebounds. Junior guard Raimee Beck, who was fitted with a facemask due to an injury suffered against Western State Saturday, added seven points and six rebounds.
Air Force started the game off with a three-point basket by freshman Kelsey Berger. TCU then went on a 19-0 run over the next nine minutes to pull away for good. The Falcons were held to a season-low for points and shot a season-low 21.7 percent from the field.
TCU led 34-19 at the half and would out-score the Falcons 38-16 in the second. The Horned Frogs shot 52.7 percent from the field.
Sophomore guard Anna Gault had team-high's of five assists and three steals for the Falcons. Sophomore guard Jamela Satterfield made her first start of the year, and second of her career, and finished with three rebounds.
San Diego State Game Recap
The Air Force women's basketball team dropped a 68-48 game to San Diego State Wednesday night in Clune Arena.
San Diego State got dominant post play from center Paris Johnson and forward Jessica Bradley. Johnson led the Aztecs with 17 points and eight rebounds. Bradley added 13 points and five rebounds. Guard Coco Davis also dished out 10 assists without scoring a point.
Freshman forward Kelsey Berger led Air Force with a game-high 18 points and a team-leading five rebounds. Junior guard Raimee Beck added nine points. Freshman guard Alicia Leipprant had a game-high three assists for the Falcons.
With the height advantage, SDSU out-rebounded AFA 40-25 and won the blocked shots battle 9-1. The Aztecs also dominated the points in the paint column, out-scoring the Falcons 48-14 inside.
San Diego State led 36-23 at halftime.
Air Force saw the return of sophomore point guard Anna Gault, who missed the previous four games to injury. Gault played 22 minutes and scored four points and dished out two assists.
Beck Leading The Way For Falcons
Junior guard Raimee Beck is off to a strong start so far in 2009-10. Beck had led Air Force in scoring 14 times and rebounding 14 times. She amongst the MWC top 10 in several categories.

Beck Closing In On 1,000
With 932 career points, junior guard Raimee Beck needs 68 points to reach the 1,000 point mark. Beck is currently fifth all-time in scoring at Air Force in the Div. I era. Her current 11.8 point per game average is on pace to eclipse the all-time Div. I record of 1,237 career points scored by Alecia Steele (2004-08). Air Force has 11, 1,000 point scorers in school history.
Gault Returns vs. San Diego State
Sophomore point guard Anna Gault returned to action against San Diego State after missing the last four games due to an ankle injury. Gault had four points and tow assists in 22 minutes off the bench.
Gault Amongst MWC Leaders In Assists
Sophomore point guard Anna Gault ranks third in the MWC in assists averaging 4.9 per game. Gault is already fifth all-time (Div. I era) in assists at Air Force.
Her current 4.9 apg puts her on pace for 128 assists in 26 games, which would break the Div. I record of 119 set by Latoya Howell in 2002-03.
Gault Dishes Out 12 vs. Colorado State
Sophomore point guard Anna Gault dished out a career-high 12 assists against Colorado State on Jan. 9. The 12 assists is the second highest total in Div. I history at Air Force. It was Gault's third double-digit assist game in her AFA career.
Freshmen Make Immediate Impact
Four Falcon freshmen are already already making immediate impacts for the Falcons. Four of Air Force's top six scorers are freshmen. Rookies Alicia Leipprandt, Kelsey Berger, Katie Hilbig and Dymond James, rank second-through-sixth in scoring for the Falcons.
Berger Shines As A Freshman
Forward Kelsey Berger is developing into a consistent scorer for Air Force despite being a true freshman. Berger ranks second in scoring for the Falcons, averaging 8.3 points per game and also ranks second with 21 three-point baskets. Berger has stepped up her play in MWC action, averaging 10.6 points and hitting 59.1 percent of her three-point attempts (13-22).
Team Captains
Senior Kathleen Schjodt and junior Raimee Beck have been named team co-captains for the 2009-10 season. Schjodt is a three-year letterwinner at forward. Beck is a two-year letterwinner and returning starter at guard.
Six Letterwinners and Three Starters Return
Six letterwinners and three starters return for the Falcons. Juniors Raimee Beck and Liz Dunsworth and sophomore Anna Gault are Air Forces returning starters. Senior Kathleen Schjodt, junior Candice Chase and sophomore Jamela Satterfield round out the other returners. In addition, sophomore Kira Gonzalez, who did not play in any game as a freshman, also returns.
