Distance Runners Wrap up Competition at Distance Carnival

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Several members of the Air Force track and field team wrapped up competition at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival on Friday, March 25, in San Francisco, Calif. Sophomore Jen Bremser recorded the fourth-fastest 3000-meter steeplechase time in Academy history, while classmate Kate Kanetzky moved into eighth on the program's 5000-meter list.
Bremser, who finished eighth in the 22-runner steeplechase, clocked a career-best time of 11:21.26. That time is the fourth-fastest time in Academy history. Kanetzky, who won her section of the 5000-meter race, finished 17th overall in the 73-runner field with a personal-best time of 17:33.32. That time is the eighth-fastest time in program history.
Freshman Isaiah Bragg placed third in the 10,000-meter race with a time of 31:07.73, while senior Tyler Small claimed a 23rd-place time of 14:57.21 in the 5000-meter run.
Back on the women's side, freshman Tasha Mayne placed sixth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:18.99, while classmate Stephaney Saari finished 13th in 2:23.28. Sophomore Melissa Fuerst earned a seventh-place finish in the 1500-meter run after crossing the finish line in 4:43.10, while junior Katie Carroll clocked a time of 4:51.27.
