Rotations Announced for NCAA Event Preliminaries

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The five members of the Air Force men's gymnastics team that advanced to individual event preliminaries of the NCAA National Championships learned their rotation order this morning following the coaches' meeting in Columbus, Ohio. This is the first appearance in the event preliminaries for all five Falcons.
In the first rotation, junior Devin Menefee will open the night as the first competitor on the still rings. Menefee scored a 14.800 during the national qualifier yesterday afternoon to make his. Freshman Colton Wulf will also compete in the opening session, going second on the high bar. Wulf advanced to the national championships after scoring a 14.150 on the high bar.
Senior Aaron Zasier and sophomore Tory Brown will both compete as the first competitor of their respective events during the second rotation. Zaiser, who scored a 14.600 yesterday, will compete on the floor exercise, while Brown will go first on the vault after scoring a 15.900 during the qualifier.
Sophomore James Okamoto was selected to open the final rotation on the pommel horse. As the Falcons' final competitor during yesterday's qualifier, Okamoto scored a 14.250 to tie for sixth.
Menefee, Brown and Okamoto will compete on their respective events during Illinois' rotation, while Wulf and Zaiser will compete with Penn State.
The top three teams, top three all-arounders not on an advancing team and the top three event specialists not on an advancing team or qualifying as an all-arounder from each session of the April 14 national qualifier advanced to today's team finals and event preliminaries.
Action begins at 7 p.m. tonight, at St. John's Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
