Falcons in 10th Place After Day One of Tucker Tournament

Led by a career-tying low round from sophomore Kyle Westmoreland, the Air Force men's golf team sits in 10th place after the first two rounds of the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate Tournament in Albuquerque, N.M. The Falcons, who were tied for 10th after a first-round total of 304, rebounded with a 298 in the second round for a two-round total of 602 on the par 72, 7,248-yard Championship Course at the University of New Mexico.
Westmoreland, meanwhile, tied his career-low round with a three-under par 69 in the second round and is tied for third place at two-under par on the individual leaderboard heading into the final round. He shot a one-over par 73 in the first round, then posted seven birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey in the second round.
Junior Andrew Hoops shot a pair of 75s on the day and is tied for 39th at six-over par, while sophomore Miguel Macias, making his first career varsity trip, is tied for 61st with a 10-over par total of 154.
Leading the way in the team standings after the first day of action is UNLV, which posted a four-over par 580, followed by New Mexico at 581. Meanwhile, Zachary Blair of BYU sits atop the individual leaderboard with a five-under par 139.
The final round of the tournament begins Monday morning at 7 a.m.
