Falcons Travel to Wyoming for Mid-Week Contest

The Air Force women's basketball team is back in action this week, Wednesday, Jan. 18, when it travels to Wyoming for a 7:00 p.m. contest.

LAST TIME OUT...
Air Force's second-half rally fell short in an 81-75 loss to Boise State Saturday afternoon. Junior Dymond James registered her second double-double of the year, finishing with a season-high 24 points, along with 10 rebounds. Sophomore Michelle Ivey added a career-best 18 points, while junior Alicia Leipprandt also scored in double figures with 16 points.
SCOUTING THE FALCONS...
Air Force enters this week's game with a 5-12 overall mark and 0-2 ledger in the Mountain West.
Junior Alicia Leipprandt is the Falcons' leading scorer on the season, averaging 14.7 points per game, while classmate Dymond James is also averaging in double figures scoring with 12.6 points per contest. James is also the team's leading rebounder with 7.2 boards per game.
SCOUTING THE COWGIRLS...
Wyoming enters Wednesday's contest with a 5-10 overall ledger and 1-1 mark in the Mountain West after defeating New Mexico, 52-50, on Saturday.
Chaundra Sewell leads the Cowgirls with 13.4 points and 9.1 rebounds per game, while Ashley Sickles is second on the team with 12.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per contest.

In the latest conference statistics, Air Force leads the Mountain West in steals per game (9.8) and ranks third in rebounding offense (40.1) and offensive rebounds per game (14.0).

In the latest conference statistics, Wyoming leads the Mountain West in assist-to-turnover ratio (0.8) and ranks second in defensive rebounding percentage (.672).
ANOTHER DOUBLE-DOUBLE FOR DYMOND...
Junior Dymond James posted her second double-double of the year on Saturday versus Boise State, finishing with a season-high 24 points, along with 10 rebounds. James now has eight double-doubles in her career.
In addition, James has recorded 10+ rebounds in 10 career games, while the Boise State game marked the second 20+ point performance of her career.
MICHELLE'S BIG GAME...
Sophomore Michelle Ivey had a breakout offensive performance against Boise State on Saturday, scoring a career-best 18 points against the Broncos. Ivey's previous career high in scoring was eight points.
In addition, Ivey shot 77.8 percent from the field (7-of-9), the best single-game performance for a Falcon this season.
ANOTHER STARTER...
On Saturday, freshman guard Jimi Blagowsky made her first career start for the Falcons. Blagowsky became the 11th different Air Force player (and first freshman) to enter the starting lineup this season, as the Falcons have utilized 10 different starting lineups through the first 17 games.
DYMOND RETURNS...
After missing five games due to an ankle injury, junior Dymond James returned to the lineup against Colorado State on Jan. 11, finishing with a team-best 14 points, while also recording a career-high five steals. Meanwhile, she posted a season-best 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for a double-double against Boise State.
In the two games since returning from her injury, James has averaged 19.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest.
