Jacob Houder and Travis Myers Named Mountain West Scholar-Athletes

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Jacob Houder and Travis Myers, two recently graduated members of the Air Force men's gymnastics team, were named recipients of the Mountain West Scholar-Athlete award, the league office announced this morning (June 20).
Houder (Pinehurst, Texas) is making his third appearance on the MW Scholar-Athlete team, after graduating last month with a 3.69 GPA in biochemistry. Myers, a native of Woodland Park, Colo., finished his academic career with a 3.90 GPA in materials chemistry and mathematics.
They are two of six Academy gymnasts that have been honored with Mountain West Scholar-Athlete status. Joining Houder (2009-11-12) and Myers (2011-12) are former Falcons James Hayes (2001-02), Aaron Jackson (2003), Patrick MacAndrew (2002-03-04) and Brian Boardman (2007-08).
To be eligible for the MW Scholar-Athlete Award, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or better and have participated in varsity competition in an NCAA-sponsored sport.
