Kyle Westmoreland Named Mtn. West Golfer of the Week

Air Force junior Kyle Westmoreland has been selected the Mountain West Men's Golfer of the Week for tournaments played April 26 - 27.
Westmoreland concluded the regular season tying for a second-place finish at the PING Cougar Classic in Provo, Utah. He fired a 13-under-par 203 (69-66-68) on the par 72, 7,142-yard Riverside Country Club. The product of Katy Texas, was one shot shy of medalist honors and his 54-hole total is the second-lowest of his career and the fourth-lowest by any Falcon golfer in the history of the program. Westmoreland's second round of 6-under 66 tied for the second-lowest round of his career at Air Force. He was one of only two golfers in the field of 52 to shoot three sub-70 rounds and one of four golfers to complete each round under par. Westmoreland notched 18 birdies across the tournament, including seven in each of the final two rounds.
As a team, Air Force placed second among nine squads with a combined score of 15-under 849 (284-283-282), marking the Falcons' fifth top-five finish of the season. AFA's total of 849 was the fourth-best for a 54-hole tournament in program history.
Westmoreland enters this week's MW Championship leading the Falcons and ranked second in the Mountain West with a 71.90 stroke average over 31 rounds. This marks his third career MW Golfer of the Week award.
