BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Air Force women's basketball opened the 2014-15 regular season with a 96-56 loss at Bakersfield Friday night at the Icardo Center. Senior Lindsey Lewis led the Falcons with 15 points.

Air Force (0-1) had two players in double figures. Joining Lewis, who went 8-for-10 at the free throw line, senior Jimi Blagowsky added 11 points to go with a team-high three steals.

Junior Madeleine Philpot had a game-high seven rebounds and freshman Cortney Porter led the team with four assists.

Five players made their collegiate debuts for the Falcons. Freshmen Dee Bennett, Maggie Borngesser, Sarah Cantu, Erika Chapman and Porter played their first collegiate games for AFA.

Tyonna Outland led Bakersfield (1-0) with 28 points.

Air Force returns to action Monday, Nov. 17, hosting Omaha. Tipoff is 7 pm.
