
Air Force Falls To Weber State

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force women's basketball dropped a 71-53 ballgame to Weber State in non-conference action Thursday night at Clune Arena. Senior Jimi Blagowsky led the Falcons (1-2) with 17 points and four assists.
Regina Okoye scored 21 points and Jalen Cerpenter added 18 for the Wildcats, who remain unbeaten on the season at 4-0. Weber State used its size advantage to out-rebound AFA 58-24.
Blagowsky notched her third consecutive double-digit scoring game for the Falcons, breaking out of her long distance slump with four three-point baskets. Freshman guard Sarah Cantu came off the bench to score 12 points and dish out three assists for AFA. Cantu also connected on a pair of three-point baskets.
The Falcons had a strong night from three-point range, hitting 45 percent of their attempts (9-for-20) and getting three's from five different players. Freshman guard Cortney Porter (Ogden, Utah), playing against her home town college, scored five points and tied for the team-lead with five rebounds and four assists.
Air Force started the game slow and found themselves down 38-21 at halftime. The Falcons battled in the second-half where the scored was 33-32 in favor of Weber State. Air Force shot 32 percent from the field (16-for-50) and was good on 80 percent of their shots from the three throw line (12-for-15).
The Falcons return to action Sunday, Nov. 24, at SIUE.
