
Air Force Downed At Denver Monday

DENVER - Air Force women's basketball (1-8) dropped a 107-66 contest to Denver (2-6) in non-conference action Monday night at Magness Arena. Senior Jimi Blagowsky and Freshman Cortney Porter led the Falcons with 19 points each.
Denver hit a barrage of three-point baskets to pull away midway through the second half. The Pioneers made a school-record 19 three-point baskets. Morgan Van Riper-Rose and Paige Bradley led the Pioneers with 32 and 19 points respectively. Van Riper-Rose connected on 10 three-point baskets.
Blagowsky hit 7-of-16 shots and three, three-point baskets in reaching her 19 points. The senior also led the team with three assists. Porter reached a career-high for points, notching double-figures for the third straight game. The freshman was an efficient 8-of-13 from the field.
Senior Lindsey Lewis also reached double-figure in scoring, chipping in with 13 points and a team-high six rebounds. Freshman Sarah Cantu added seven points and senior Angela Johnson scored six.
The Falcons had their highest scoring first half on the road so far this season, scoring 35 points and shooting 47.1 percent from the field.
Air Force returns to action Thursday, Dec. 11, at Utah Valley.
