
Air Force Falls Tuesday At Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz. - Air Force baseball dropped a 14-2 ballgame at Arizona Tuesday night at Hi Corbett Field. The Falcons dropped to 4-9 on the season while the Wildcats improved to 9-9.
Meeting for the first time since 1968--a span of 46 years--Arizona scored seven runs in the first inning to coast to the win.
The Wildcats had nine hits in the game. Leadoff hitter Scott Kingery scored three runs and drove in three off one hit and three walks. First baseman and Colorado native Bobby Dalbec went 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs.
Air Force had four hits in the game. Seth Kline, Noah Pierce, Adam Blankenship and Brian Sicher had base hits for the Falcons. Pierce doubled and Sicher drove in a run. Tyler Jones and Blankenship scored AFA's runs.
Starting pitcher Jacob DeVries (0-1) was chased from the game after just two outs in the loss. Ben Yokley, Bo Wilson, Travis Neubeck, Brady Weaver and Nathan Stanford pitched in relief.
Stanford pitched in his fifth-consecutive game for the Falcons. Neubeck set career highs with four strikeouts in three innings pitched.
Wildcat starting pitcher Morgan Earman (2-1) pitched eight innings, striking out five in the win.
After Arizona's big first inning, the Falcons plated two runs in the second. The Wildcats scored two in the second and one in the third to go up 10-2. Arizona added a run in the fifth and seventh and two in the eighth.
Air Force and Arizona will wrap up the series tomorrow. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
