
Josh Ramos Paces Falcons in Minnesota Dual Meet

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Air Force men's gymnastics team suffered a 425.100-407.150 setback to Minnesota on Saturday, Jan. 24, during the squad's first road competition of the season. Senior Josh Ramos claimed an event title on the floor exercise, while three others earned runner-up placements.
Ramos scored a career-best 15.100 to win the floor exercise by nearly a half-point. The senior paced the Falcons to two of the top-three finishes, as classmate Nick Gaudlip finished third with 14.700.
The Falcons placed three within the top-half of the field on the pommel horse and vault. Freshman Arinn Wade and sophomore Tim Wang tied for second on the pommel horse with matching marks of 14.400, while freshman Fletcher Braunton placed fifth with a 13.650. Sophomore Aaron Nubine (14.400) and Wang (14.300) finished second and third, respectively, on the vault, while Ramos earned a sixth-place finish following a score of 13.950.
Freshman Jonathon Fornoff scored a 14.500 to tie for third on the parallel bars, while Ramos added an additional top-six finish with a 14.400. Junior Denis Aurelius paced the Falcons with a sixth-place finish on the still rings (14.050), while senior Greg Chaput led the squad on the high bar, finishing seventh with a 12.300.
Air Force returns home next Sunday (Feb. 1), when it hosts service academy rival Army at the Academy's Cadet West Gym. The meet is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m.
