Air Force Falls At Santa Clara

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Air Force women's basketball dropped a 68-34 contest at Santa Clara in non-conference action Saturday afternoon at The Leavey Center. Sophomores Cortney Porter and Dee Bennett led the Falcons in scoring.
Santa Clara used several big runs to pull away with the win. The Broncos had three runs of over 10 points to build a big enough cushion to improve to 1-2 on the season.
Porter led Air Force (0-4) with eight points and Bennett followed with six. Porter also led the Falcons with four assists. Bennett had a team-high six rebounds.
Savanna Hanson led Santa Clara with 15 points and Taylor Berry added 11.
Air Force did a good job of getting to the free throw line, attempting a season-high 27 free throws, which was 15 more than the previous best.
Guard Sydney Graham added four points and three assists. Forward Cheyenne Wall had five rebounds. Guard Venessannah Itugbu had four points and three rebounds.
Air Force returns to action Sunday, Nov. 23, at UC Davis. Tip time, at The Pavilion in Davis, Calif., is 6 pm PT.
